DigiCraftMethodology
The DigiCraft methodology is an innovative didactic proposal for the development of digital competences through play and experimentation. This is applied in the various environments included in the DigiCraft programme.

But, what is digital competence and why is it important?
Digital competence equates to the safe and critical use of digital technology and covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes that all citizens need in a quickly evolving digital society.
The European framework DigComp defines 5 areas of competence that make up digital competence:
- Information and information literacy
- Communication and collaboration
- Creating digital contents
- Security
- Problem solving
DigiCraft Methodology
The DigiCraft methodology was born from the collaboration of experts in education and technology at the University of Salamanca. It has been designed for children to work on the five areas of competence defined in the DigComp framework, identifying which specific competences they should develop and marking specific objectives for each age range.
It is based on collaborative learning, and requires the pupil's active participation through play and experimentation, in a context that encourages curiosity, creativity and positive emotional development.
The focus is, at every stage, on the young child in their centre of learning, presenting digital competence in a different and fun way using emerging technologies. Developing respect for the environment, promoting recycling and the responsible use of devices.
It aims to bring the digital and analogue worlds closer, considering activities that are not only based on using electronic devices, but that involve developing cognitive and motor skills, logical thinking, and working in a team.
